OUR PHILOSOPHY
Red Barn's philosophy is based on principles and standards defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We believe that children build their knowledge and make discoveries through manipulation real and concrete objects.
Growth in language and scholastics is built by putting one skill on top of another. Skills introduced before a child is developmentally ready may be forgotten or may add confusion or boredom to later learning.
Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment that respects the individuality of each child and fosters independent learning. We encourage children to progress at their own pace in the activities that interest them. We provide a wealth of materials and activities to help develop:
- Curiosity, imagination, creativity, and new interests:
- Social skills such as sharing, cooperation, problem solving, and respect for the rights of others:
- Independence, positive self-image, and self-confidence:
- Language and listening skills:
- Large and small muscle control:
- Hand-eye coordination.
